Applications are invited for the post of Data Manager in the Nottingham Clinical Trials Unit (NCTU). The role holder will be a key member of our multidisciplinary team developing and delivering high quality clinical trials within the Nottingham Clinical Trials Unit (NCTU). The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Data Manager and will have responsibility for the day-to-day operational workload planning of data management resource for NCTU projects ensuring consistent on-going quality of research data to meet the trial and unit needs, communicating with the trial management team, statistical team and the database developers to assess priorities.

Nottingham Clinical Trials Unit (NCTU) is a UK Clinical Research Collaboration registered Clinical Trials Unit (http://www.ukcrc-ctu.org.uk) based in the School of Medicine at the University of Nottingham.The unit’s mission is to conduct high quality, high impact multicentre trials to improve health and well-being. The unit has close links with local NHS Trusts (Nottingham University Hospital NHS Trust, Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, and Derby Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust), the Institute of Mental Health and the School of Health Sciences.

Candidates should have a relevant degree or significant experience in a similar role within a data management team along with up to date knowledge and understanding of guidelines applicable to data management for clinical research studies, including clinical trials. Strong organisational skills with a flexible approach to working and the ability to multi-task are essential along with experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team, understanding the strengths and weaknesses of others to assist teamwork development and workload allocation and experience of overseeing clinical data management activities from study start up to close-out. Candidates should be able to demonstrate a track record of project management and managing the workload of others.

This is a full-time post, preferably; however applications are welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time to a minimum of 0.8fte, 29 hours per week. Please indicate on your application the hours you wish to work. The post is offered on a permanent contract.
