Estates and Facilities are seeking an experienced gardener to work within our small Landscape Services Team. Estates and Facilities provides and manages a full range of services to deliver and maintain buildings, grounds and infrastructure for over 25,000 students and staff across multiple sites. 

The Landscape Maintenance Operative’s role is focussed on delivering a quality service to the soft landscaped grounds at the University’s academic and residential sites. 

You will be an experienced horticultural all-rounder who has extensive experience of general grounds maintenance and who is able to demonstrate the be part of a motivated an in-house workforce. You will have good communication and inter-personal skills enabling you to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.  You will have recent practical knowledge and skills in the use of horticultural machinery; you must hold a driving licence which enables you to drive such machinery on UK public roads. You’ll be a team player with a ‘can do’ approach to service delivery. Previous experience of working at multiple sites and of maintaining a wide variety of landscapes including woodlands is desirable. 

The working week is 36 hours, Monday to Thursday 0800 -1630, and Friday 0800 -1200.
