The Institute for Policy Research (IPR) is a leading institute of public policy research based at the University of Bath.

It is seeking to recruit an outstanding academic to lead its programme of research. The Director of Research at IPR will be responsible for planning and delivering a research programme across a number of core public policy themes, developing successful research grant applications, managing a small team of IPR research staff, and managing research budgets.

The post-holder will be an established academic with a track record of excellent research and publication in leading journals. The post-holder will undertake some postgraduate teaching duties, supervise doctoral students and will be expected to contribute to the public and policymaker engagement work of the institute. Applicants should have a disciplinary background in public policy or in a field related directly to public policy-making, such as politics, economics, social policy, psychology or sociology.
