The Department of Design and Engineering at Staffordshire University is pleased to announce the recruitment of a full-time (0.5FTE) Lecturer in Fashion to join our recently established Department within the School of Creative Arts and Engineering. This recruitment is central to our ambitious expansion plans and hence helping us deliver against the University’s vision and beyond. 

The Design cluster at Staffordshire University has a well-established reputation for providing an innovative portfolio which includes both Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses. We wish to complement our existing, experienced and very successful academic team with an ambitious academic practitioner / researcher to join our newly established BA (Hons) in Fashion degree.

We are seeking an inspirational and creative individual who is passionate about teaching fashion design and is currently engaging in appropriate research and scholarly activity. Applicants should hold a higher degree in a relevant subject area, combined with an excellent fashion industry background, and have significant industry connections and experience in developing industry links for live projects. If successful, you will make a substantial contribution to employability through creating and maintaining relationships with industry at both national and international levels.

The ideal candidate should be able to contribute to the School’s strategic research plan and work across a variety of different specialisms within the context of fashion design and pattern cutting, including commercial and high end and be able to adapt his/her teaching and approaches according to the needs of both the student and his/her design aesthetic.
