Description :
Category: Admin/Clerical | Faculty/Division: Academic Services | School: Registry Services | Department: Registry Services Team | Location: City Centre Campus | Post Type: Full Time | Closing Date: 25 Nov 2018 | Are you a student data expert who can bring your skills and experience to contribute to a step change in student data capability here at BCU? We have an obligation to return high quality data to external agencies such as HESA and believe that the best way to do this is to ensure our systems and processes are working effectively.  With a recent expansion of our Higher Degree Apprenticeship provision here at BCU we’re looking for someone to join our team to help ensure our returns to the Education and Skills Funding Agency are accurate and on time. This means you’ll not only need to manage the monthly and annual data returns but work with others in the team, and elsewhere, to improve our data collection processes. Aside from this you will be part of a team that is dedicated to improving data quality and will be involved in an exciting programme of change to the way in which our student records are maintained, and how student data is collected and used by our systems, and our team members. You will be highly data literate and have experience in interrogating complex data sources. Crucially, you will be familiar with responsibilities towards statutory returns within the education sector and understand how systems such as our student record system (SITS) play a crucial role in supporting these activities.  Your skills will enable you to contribute to the continuous improvement of business processes, delivered through a strong customer service oriented approach, that have a real impact on individuals and the institution at large. Registry Services As Registry Services, we have overall responsibility for the student record, as well as the maintenance and continuous improvement of the systems that store it. High quality systems result in high data quality, which is a key component of our mission. We work with faculties and professional services departments to support processes relating to the entire student journey, from application to award and graduation, and act as a source of advice on how those processes can be improved through the use and development of our student systems. Working at BCU It’s not just the benefits that are great at BCU.  We are a great place to work too.  We have invested £260 million in our state-of-the-art city centre facilities, which offer a modern working environment in the heart of Birmingham’s Eastside development. The sector faces big challenges, but here at BCU we see these as Big Opportunities.  Our plans are ambitious: we are transforming the university, the lives and experiences of our students, our practices and the region we operate in and we need a creative and highly professional workforce to match. Please upload a CV and covering letter/expression of interest as part of your application for this role.
