The University of Nottingham Ningbo, China, a pioneer in Sino-foreign tertiary education, is rapidly expanding.  It is looking for ambitious, talented academics with a passion for teaching as well as research flair to join its team of science and engineering experts. UNNC is part of the University of Nottingham’s Global University, and offers unique teaching and research opportunities in a highly dynamic economy.

The successful candidate will be expected to be an effective language tutor. The post represents an exciting and unique opportunity for a candidate with the ability to deliver high quality language teaching from beginner to advanced levels in Spanish for undergraduate and postgraduate students. In addition to teaching, the successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the further development of language teaching and learning resources, including e-learning and web-based provision, and to the administration of quality assurance procedures. Contact teaching hours will normally be 15 to 18 hours per week. Successful candidates are also expected to provide pastoral care and academic support to students and participate in extracurricular activities and/or Executive education programmes.

1.Candidates must have a degree in a relevant subject Languages, Humanities or Social Sciences.

2.Master degree in a relevant Spanish teaching Language University or official institution.

3.Excellent communication and presentation skills in English are required.

4.Candidates should also have experience of language teaching at degree level in China or Asia for more than 2 years.

5.Experience on blended learning for second or third language acquisition.

6.Experience of working in an international and/or multicultural setting.

7.A mother-tongue level spoken in Speaking Spanish.

Salary will be within the range of RMB 240,982 – RMB 287,744 per annum, depending on skills and experience, salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance. In addition, an attractive package including accommodation allowance, travel allowance and insurance will be provided for international appointments.

This post is available from 18th of February 2018 and will initially be offered on a one year fixed-term contract with the University of Nottingham, Ningbo, China. It will be renewed upon performance for a period of up to five years. This contract may be extended on an indefinite basis by mutual agreement.
