Catering Assistant (1059618TD-R)

We are looking for a Catering Assistant, to join our Catering Services team at the University of Southampton. The successful candidate will need to enjoy interacting with our customers, ensuring that you give the highest level of customer service at all times.

You will be required to help with the preparation and service of beverages, meals, set up and clear down of restaurants, outlets and service counters, general cleaning and washing up to include the operation of basic kitchen and plate wash equipment. 

On occasions, you will also assist with basic food preparation under guidance from chefs and the operation of cash tills when trained.

You will be required to work in a busy, fast-paced environment. Flexibility around hours worked is essential.

Working 36 hours per week with occasional weekends. 

Please note, in addition to the salary stated in the contract the University currently provides a non-contractual supplement to roles at this level to bring them in line with the Living Wage rate of £8.75 per hour.
