Description :

We are looking for a skilled and experienced communications manager to work as a key member of the NIHR Dissemination Centre team, influencing how research evidence is promoted at a national level. You will work on everything from our website and publishing portal to our social media accounts and communications campaigns. You will enjoy a great deal of autonomy to shape how the centre communicates while working collaboratively with colleagues in other NIHR centres.

The Dissemination Centre is part of the University of Southampton's Wessex Institute, based at Chilworth Science Park. The Centre publishes and promotes summaries of research evidence in healthcare, public health and social care. You will be educated to a skill level equivalent to achievement of degree, HND, NVQ4 or basic professional qualification. You will be skilled in planning and progressing communications for an organisation with a clear strategic approach. With high level IT, social media and media relations skills and with an ability to plan and organise communications campaigns, you will have the opportunity to be an influential member of a small team.   You will be a well-organised, analytical and self-motivated individual who is able to prioritise their own workload and use initiative to adapt and refine working practices. You will be able to multi-task and be confident using the MS Office and Adobe Creative suites.

This position is available full time or part time (0.8FTE) until 31/03/2020 with possibility of longer-term extension, dependent on contract funding. Specific working pattern for part time hours can be discussed at the interview.
