National Collaborative Outreach Programme Education Outreach Fellows (SESAR1173)

Are you passionate about making a difference and helping young people achieve a Higher Education destination? Would you like to share your research skills and experience of Higher Education to inspire young people and help them to access Higher Education?

Go Higher West Yorkshire (formerly HEART), a consortium of 12 Higher Education Providers in West Yorkshire, is looking to appoint three Senior Ambassadors (Educational Outreach Fellows) to support the delivery of our Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) funded National Collaborative Outreach Programme (NCOP). 

NCOP seeks to identify and address issues around progression to Higher Education for young people living in areas where progression is low overall, and particularly low when GCSE attainment is taken into account. As part of the project we are delivering a range of activities in schools, colleges, universities and community settings across West Yorkshire. This will include delivery of activity from a specially converted double decker bus at locations including shopping centres, sporting venues, carnivals and local festivals.

You will use your experience of Higher Education and your research skills to inform and inspire young people. You should be an enthusiastic, approachable and responsible student, from any subject background. You will be required to act as a positive ambassador for Go Higher West Yorkshire and Higher Education. You will need strong presentation skills and be confident in delivering talks and workshops, engaging with both small and large groups.

Work in this post is available throughout the year, including the vacation periods and will include frequent evenings and weekends. You will need to be able to travel independently to locations across West Yorkshire.
