Description :

Are you a proactive, motivated self-starter who would like to manage an innovative, sector leading service, delivering a raft of benefits to students, partners and the University?

The Student Recruitment Directorate, which has institution-wide responsibility for undergraduate recruitment and outreach in the UK, is looking to recruit a Schools and Colleges Liaison Manager who will build a sector leading service, initiating and nurturing strong partnerships with schools, colleges and other agencies.

We seek a dynamic and inspirational leader who will work with the Director of Student Recruitment to provide strategic direction and, alongside their senior officer, lead and support a highly motivated team in order to build and maintain links with schools and colleges across the UK, through a variety of means.  The post holder will have operational responsibility for devising and implementing activities that ensure that we meet our ambitious plans for widening participation, generating applications to the University from potential students from a diverse background in a highly competitive market.

The post holder will lead the Schools and Colleges Liaison Service (SCLS), which plays a key role in positioning the University, enhancing its stature and reputation.  It offers information, advice and guidance about higher education to young people and their parents, gives presentations and delivers workshops in order to promote Higher Education and in particular the University of Hull, to a variety of audiences at national recruitment events, such as education fairs.

SCLS promotes access to the University within schools and colleges as well as creating a collaborative environment for the creation and adoption of initiatives that increase widening participation and access. In addition, the University has been working to reinvigorate its relationship with its Principal Partner College Network, transitioning from a reactive and request-led service to a sustained, proactive and ambitious programme of interventions. The post holder will work with a range of external beneficiaries to develop new initiatives and deliver activities which raise the University’s profile amongst key target audiences.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a highly motivated team, dedicated to meeting the needs of young people, parents/carers and teachers, and developing lasting relationships. We are looking for someone able to demonstrate a detailed understanding of higher education policies/issues with highly developed organisational skills, strong initiative and a commitment to continuous quality improvement. The successful candidate will demonstrate proven management experience and will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a positive and enthusiastic attitude and be keen to take on new challenges. You must be flexible and able to travel throughout the UK visiting schools, colleges, groups and organisations. This will involve time away from home and working evenings/ weekends when required.
