The Hull York Medical School is seeking to appoint a high-calibre clinician educator as Deputy Director of its flagship MBBS programme. The role is available at senior lecturer level. The successful applicant will be a leader in medical education and help Hull York Medical School develop its national and international reputation for quality and innovation. You will join us at an exciting juncture in our continued growth and maturity offering an exciting opportunity to develop research, teaching and leadership skills. You will offer academic leadership and support the delivery of all aspects of the Hull York Medical School MBBS programme. The post-holder will have overall responsibility for:

Supporting the Programme Director in delivering all aspects of the Hull York Medical School MBBS programmeWorking with colleagues to ensure an excellent student experience by engaging with the students and other stakeholdersDeveloping a student-centred plan of quality improvement projects that are designed to lift the student experienceEnsuring MBBS students receive high quality, timely assessment and feedback and student support, working with the relevant academic leads.

Skills, Experience & Qualification needed

Primary medical qualification registrable with a licence to practice with the GMCHigher degree in relevant field of study •Postgraduate teaching qualification and Fellowship of the Higher Education AcademySpecialist knowledge in medical education and a record of substantial achievementClear contemporary understanding of the NHS and UK higher educationResearch expertise with a substantial recent publication record in leading peer-reviewed journalDemonstrated evidence of strong leadership and significant management skillsExperience of leading organisational change in complex organisations

Salary will be consistent with the Clinical Academic salary scale.
