The purpose of the Planning and Business Intelligence department is to ensure that the university’s strategic and operational planning, monitoring and reviewing processes are underpinned by robust, meaningful and timely management information so that these remain aligned to its mission, values and success. The department provides a broad range of services to support the achievement of the University’s objectives, including value-adding business intelligence to support decision-making across the University, strategic and operational planning, timetabling and business continuity and risk management.

This role  is responsible for interpreting complex data sets and communicating key findings from a variety of data analyses and sources in a timely and understandable way to various stakeholders across the Institution.  This will involve the production and continuous improvement of clear and timely briefing papers and analysis reports.

The role will also involve the formal presentation and discussion of reports at committees and other meetings across the University in a clear and confident manner and providing recommendations to key stakeholders to help inform the University’s strategic direction.

The work of the Planning and Business Intelligence team is subject to rapid change in response to external policy changes and internal needs, and the responsibilities of the post will be varied and challenging.

Please note this post is 37 hours per week, fixed term until 30th November 2019 or until the early return of the post holder.
