Description :

The University of Lincoln is embarking on an exciting partnership with the University of Nottingham to provide undergraduate medical education in Lincolnshire, at scale, for the first time.  The first group of 95 medical students will begin their studies at the University of Lincoln’s Brayford Pool campus in September 2019, and the University is offering the opportunity for committed individuals to take up posts to help establish the teaching environment in the new medical school.

We are seeking to recruit talented academic staff in Anatomy, Behavioural Science, Biochemistry/Molecular Medicine, Pharmacology & Therapeutics, Physiology (2 posts), and Public Health/Social Determinants of Health.  Within the group of successful applicants, we are keen to appoint staff with experience of teaching Embryology, Histology, Immunology and Microbiology.  Depending on the skills and experience of the appointees, all posts may be offered on Teaching and Research (T&R) or Teaching, Scholarship and Professional Practice (TSPP) profiles.

The University of Lincoln has an excellent reputation for providing an outstanding student experience, ranking 7th in the UK for overall satisfaction in the 2018 National Student Survey and 22nd overall in the Guardian University Guide 2019.Our modern campus sits beside the picturesque Brayford Pool marina, with views of the ancient castle and cathedral just beyond.

Working in new or newly-converted facilities until the new medical school building is complete in 2021, you will join a progressive, goal-oriented team of academic and professional services colleagues to deliver excellence in medical education and an outstanding student experience within the University of Nottingham’s Early Years and BMedSci medical curriculum model.

If you are looking for the challenge of establishing one of the UK’s new medical schools, with the potential to shape the hearts, minds and skills of the doctors of the future, this may be the opportunity for you.

Candidates who are shortlisted for interview will be notified in early January 2019.
