Description :

The Professional Development Centre has been situated within the College of Social Science at the University of Lincoln since 2010.  Its role is, in collaboration with the various Schools within the College, to develop, manage and deliver a range of undergraduate, postgraduate and bespoke stand - alone programmes in the areas of Health and Social Care, (including Postgraduate Medicine), Law, Psychology, Education and Social & Political Science. In addition, the Centre’s offer also includes applied Research / Evaluation and consultancy activity.

Recently the centre has secured a number of contracts to develop and deliver Apprenticeship programmes for Nursing Associates, and it is highly likely that in the short to medium term we shall be looking to deliver both pre-registration nursing degree programmes, and also Advanced Clinical Practice Masters programmes via the apprenticeship route.  As a consequence we wish to recruit a Senior Lecturer/Programme leader for this area of work to lead a team committed to working with NHS employers across Lincolnshire to deliver apprenticeship programmes (Levels 5, 6 and 7),  and enhance the healthcare workforce with the aim of transforming services for the benefit of patients and their families.

Alongside the general duties associated with the role of Senior Lecturer, the successful candidate, who will hold a current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, will have specific responsibility for coordination and management of a suite of professional academic programmes being delivered under the apprenticeship framework within the Centre. The successful candidate, will oversee the work of  a team of lecturing staff and will liaise with internal and external stakeholders in the development and delivery of these programmes. S/He will also make a major contribution to the development of further apprenticeship programmes at levels 6 and 7.

This post will require the candidate to have a DBS completed.
