Inspirational applicants are sought for an open-ended, full-time Lecturer (Assistant Professor) post in Environmental Chemical Engineering the Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Bath, UK. This is integral to the successful operation and development of the new MSc course in Environmental Engineering in the Department to start in October 2019.

You will be a highly ambitious PhD graduate, with a good first degree in Chemical Engineering or a very closely related discipline. You will have a growing publications record and international reputation appropriate to your career stage, and fit one or more of the Department’s research centres (in brief in Water, Separations and Bio-processing). Potential for winning and delivering on research grants and successful supervision of research students and staff, is expected. Capability and willingness to teach Environmental Chemical Engineering at postgraduate level (including in design), and to contribute to academic management and leadership, are also expected.

The successful applicant will work in a progressive and successful academic environment, and will benefit from the collaborative and well-established Department and Faculty system at the University. Selection Process

All applications are online. In addition to the application form they must include a full and up-to-date CV together with a 4pp max outline of plans for the post. This outline will focus on research (including funding sources), but should also cover teaching. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to Bath to meet staff and students, tour the Department and University, give an oral presentation to staff and research students, and attend a formal face-to-face interview on 8 February 2019.  We expect the successful applicant to be in post as soon as possible thereafter.
