Research Fellow (094718)

We seek a Research Fellow in Healthcare Research, beginning January 7th 2019 for 6 months. They will conduct workshops with people with dementia and their families, exploring the role of sound recordings in triggering memories and altering mood. The work is part of the Sentimental Audio Memories for Dementia Care project, and will be carried out under the supervision of Professor David Frohlich of Digital World Research Centre. The successful candidate will have a background in health psychology, nursing, social care or gerontology, and an interest in the role of sound, media and the arts in mental health and wellbeing.   Digital World Research Centre is an interdisciplinary centre conducting new media innovation projects with social and cultural benefit. It is based in the Department of Music and Media but is physically hosted within the Centre for Vision Speech and Signal Processing.    The University of Surrey is a global university with a world-class research profile and an enterprising spirit. It runs from January to July 2019.
