You will lead our day-to-day work in getting the University, its specialist commentators, campaigns and success stories the most prominent coverage possible across national, local and international online, broadcast and print media. You will be key to developing and delivering an exciting range of high profile events aimed at drawing the attention of the media and a range of influencers to the University. Your role will also play a huge part in supporting the University’s public affairs and corporate social responsibility activities, working with, among others, the West Midlands Combined Authority and our Chosen Charities The ability to manage a team while also playing a hands-on role in direct media relations work is essential. The successful applicant will have proven experience of driving proactive and creative media relations engagement, leading others and responding effectively to crisis situations. Superb written skills are essential as the successful applicant will need to produce persuasive and engaging content as well as to oversee the output of the wider team, ensuring journalists receive quality and relevant material they can readily use.
