Lecturer in Social Work (HS0230)

We are seeking to appoint a lecturer in Social Work who will join a forward thinking and enthusiastic team to deliver first-class professional training to undergraduate and postgraduate Social Work students.

Applicants will, preferably, have a background in adult social work (in its variety of forms) and be Best Interests Assessor trained (desirable). You will be social work qualified and HCPC registered, with a good degree and we would expect applicants to either be near completion of their PhD, or, to have completed their doctoral study, when the post is taken up.

You will need a sound knowledge (and experience) of contemporary developments in social work theory and practice and, preferably, have some experience of delivering training to students in either academic or practice related contexts, including CPD.

This post presents an excellent opportunity for an early career researcher and/or practitioner keen to expand their knowledge and skills into the Higher Education sector.

The successful applicant will be based in the Department of Psychological Health, Wellbeing and Social Work within the Faculty of Health Sciences.  The Faculty is vibrant and interdisciplinary delivering high quality teaching and research in social work, nursing, CBT, clinical psychology and a wide range of allied health disciplines. The Faculty aims to conduct world-leading research in health and social work which addresses regional, national and global issues in the health sciences field. Our research aims to be interdisciplinary and focused on patient and service user outcomes. Research in the Faculty is organised around research clusters; these include: Maternal and Reproductive Health; the Centre for Applied Research and Evaluation and Social and Psychological Research into Long Term Conditions (SPARC).
