This post is fixed term, part time (25.5 hours per week) for approximately 18 months.


The post-holder will be responsible for providing administrative and secretarial support for research projects, principally PEOPLE-Hull, a Yorkshire Cancer Research project aiming to improve earlier diagnosis of lung cancer.   


Tasks will include transcription of interview data with the public and professionals, data entry from surveys and data collection forms, setting up of databases, organising project management meetings, project conferences, typing up minutes and providing administration support for the project researchers.


The role requires a high level of administrative experience; skill and knowledge that will help support the projects. With excellent organisational and communication skills the post holder will be expected to contribute to the ongoing improvement through process reviews to ensure quality assured office practices and procedures are established and maintained.


As part of a professional research team, the role requires knowledge and experience of the standard office packages, as well as enthusiasm and flexibility to contribute to a demanding workload and the need to be able to react to the changing requirements of this varied role.   Experience of working within an NHS and/or research environment would be highly advantageous.


This post requires an enhanced clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service for Adult Workforce.
