We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the photosynthesis team at Lancaster as a laboratory technician. You will work closely with all members of the team and provide support to activities in the laboratory and plant growth facilities.

You will have experience with growing plants for research and monitoring their development, as well as experience with working in a plant biology laboratory. A proactive approach and good communication and interpersonal skills are essential to integrate into the collaborative environment of the team. Excellent attention to detail and good organisation skills are required to perform the duties of the post effectively.

Lancaster University has been named University of the Year 2018 by The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide and it is in the top 10 UK Universities. The Lancaster Environment Centre (LEC) is the largest and most interdisciplinary department of the University. The photosynthesis team includes a number of academic and research staff, as well as postgraduate students working towards improving crop performance in the changing climate.

This is a part-time (0.8FTE) fixed-term post until December 2019 with a start date in January 2019.
