University of Nottingham Ningbo China, a pioneer in Sino-foreign tertiary education, is rapidly expanding.  It is looking for ambitious, talented academics with a passion for teaching as well as research flair to join its team of science and engineering experts. UNNC is part of the University of Nottingham’s Global University, and offers unique teaching and research opportunities in a highly dynamic economy.

Applications are invited for the above post in the Faculty of Science & Engineering which is one of the newest divisions at the University but is expected to become one of the biggest as the University rolls out its detailed, long term plans.  The first intake of UNNC engineering students graduated in 2014. The University expects to triple its number of engineering students to over 2,000 within the next few years.

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to teaching and curriculum development for undergraduate and/or postgraduate programmes of chemical engineering, to play a lead role in original independent and collaborative research and quality publications in the areas of chemical science and technology, energy technologies, new materials, biomass processing etc.

Candidates must have a PhD degree in chemical engineering or a closely related discipline, and excellent communication and presentation skills in English. Knowledge and experience of industrial design and process safety are essential. Experience of supervising student research up to the PhD level, and experience of teaching, tutorial or laboratory work at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels in an English speaking institution are preferable.

Salary will be within the range of £36,261 - £48,677 for Assistant Professor and £51,630-£61,618 per annum for Associate Professor depending on skills and experience (salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance).  In addition, an attractive package including accommodation allowance, travel allowance and insurance will be provided for international appointments.

The post will initially be offered on a fixed term contract with the University of Nottingham Ningbo China for a period of five years starting September 2019 or as soon as possible. This contractmay be extended on an indefinite basis by mutual agreement.
