Faculty of Medicine – Clinical Informatics Research Unit

The University of Southampton Clinical Informatics Research Unit (CIRU) is based at Southampton University Hospitals NHS Trust. The unit is a growing part of the School of Medicine. The CIRU is focused on supporting the clinical research sector in the UK and internationally, with new services being added to the portfolio of services.

We have a vacancy for a Clinical Informatics Knowledge Officer to undertake work in managing the growth of EDGE; an exciting web-based national medical research management system for the NHS, Higher education intuitions and other international institutions. The EDGE service is adopted by over 80% of the NHS and with growing adoption internationally. 

You should have a keen interest in the clinical research agenda of the UK. You should also be able to demonstrate an interest in research within the NHS and academia and will be highly innovative, motivated, dynamic and able to work to tight deadlines and be prepared to work closely with senior clinical and management staff within the NHS. You will have a PhD or equivalent professional qualifications and experience in a relevant subject area. You will have experience of web-based systems with proven skills in project management, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

The post is available on a full time basis.
