Engineering and the Environment Partners (E&E Partners) is an Enterprise Unit through which academic staff in our Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences do the majority of their consulting work. We use the expertise of over 200 members of academic staff to work with companies to tackle the most challenging problems in engineering using our know-how, research expertise, and state-of-the-art facilities. 

We are looking for an Administrative Officer who can provide the delivery of high quality and an efficient service which meets the requirements of the Unit and the Faculty.  You should be self-motivated with excellent organisational and communication skills.   You will also be able to prioritise workloads and activities, have good levels of IT skills and the ability to learn new applications. 

Key responsibilities include: 

Provide specialist and detailed end-to-end administration for the E&E Partners Unit to deliver and develop on an ongoing basis a service supporting academics engaging in consultancy activities including specialist advice & guidance to external clients; specialist advice & guidance to academics.Provide a first point of contact for communications and enquiries via telephone, email, voicemail or in person and to ensure quality standards are met through the provision of a professional and efficient service.Provide general office and administrative support, and maintenance of filing and other appropriate office systems for specialist consulting activities, design and maintenance of documents and spreadsheets/databases for consulting activities, regular reporting on finances and contract activity using the University’s financial system (Agresso), and the preparation of correspondence and documentation.Recognise and resolve a range of enquiries, understanding when and to whom more complex matters should be escalated to ensure their appropriate resolution.Assist in the organisation and support of meetings, conferences, seminars and other events including travel arrangements, room bookings, catering, accommodation, organising itineraries, programmes and invitations as required.
