The University of Bath Accommodation department houses over 4000 students throughout the academic year and during the summer months, external companies use our accommodation services for conferences, summer camps and away days. This role involves the running of two distinct operations. The first is the running of the student accommodation during the academic year and the second is running the hotel operation during the summer, and successfully planning for this in the preceding months.

The Deputy Accommodation Operations Team Leader is responsible for the day to day running of a section of University accommodation and the management of an operational team of direct reports who ensure our accommodation meets exceptional standards of cleanliness. You will co-ordinate and oversee the operation including its manpower and resources.

This role is primarily responsible for supporting our teams to deliver an effective and efficient service for customers. We are committed to ensuring our colleagues feel valued, motivated, engaged and developed, so you will have the ability to form effective working relationships and manage teams. You will ensure that communication is effective and that staff well-being is considered. You will be an effective problem solver with a ‘can-do’ attitude, who is able to overcome operational issues. You will also have an experience in stock management, an awareness of Health & Safety and have experience in using Microsoft Word and Excel. You will need to demonstrate the ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.

Previous experience within a customer facing operational role is essential, as is experience in supervising and training staff. The role requires you to work 5 days out of 7, therefore weekend working is expected.
