We are seeking applications for the above post as part of the significant investment by the University in it's research capacity and capability through six £multi-million cross-disciplinary Beacon's of Excellence. The Green Chemicals Beacon conducts discovery and challenge-led research with an objective to be demonstrably amongst the best in the world. The ambition is to engineer sustainable, biological, transformational processes based on microbial gas and sugar fermentation amendable to industrial scale-up and use. 

The purpose of this role is to lead and coordinate business liaison, communications and outreach activities. The successful candidate will take the lead role for the Beacon in:

coordinating with University business engagement staff to draw industrial biotechnology enterprises to the Beacon to build long-term strategic collaborations;organising and planning events, including workshops and conferences. In co-operation with the University’s Marketing and Communications teams develop a website, electronic communications plus marketing and exhibition materials to maximise the spread of information about activities being undertaken in the Green Chemicals Beacon of Excellence more broadly;planning and delivering outreach activities within the Green Chemicals Beacon of Excellence.

Candidates should be educated to a degree level and have substantial experience of working in a similar role and extensive experience of devising and delivering outreach activities to a broad range of audiences. The post requires excellent planning and organisational skills, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
