The University of Hull Logistics Institute (Founded in 2008) is a world-class centre of excellence in global logistics and supply chain management. With state of the art facilities and a truly international outlook, the Institute is a focal point for logistics related education and development needs, working with organisations of all sizes and types. The Institute plays a leading role in high profile and extremely innovative research and industry collaboration projects that advances the use of technology in logistics and supply chain management. We are looking for talented and enthusiastic candidates to work with us to deliver these projects.

The work we do typically contain components of applied academic research, dissemination of information through web-sites and the prototyping and development of software applications. This role will primarily be involved in the development and maintenance of web-sites and development and prototyping of software applications.

Reporting to the Systems and Operation Manager, the role holder will work with the staff of the Institute to develop, maintain and enhance websites and applications related to logistics projects, assist in structuring logistics related information for use in reports and systems, and assist with development of logistics technology demonstrator projects. This will involve work on front-end and back-end elements of applications. 

The role holder will be expected to remain up to date with the landscape of logistics and supply chain applications and data providers. Therefore an interest in, or desire to learn about this environment will be an advantage.

The role holder will work in a team environment consisting of internal and/or external team members, making interpersonal communication skills important.

This position will also provide general technical support to academic and other personnel of the Logistics Institute.
