Description :

The University of Lincoln is seeking an experienced development professional to lead its fundraising and alumni relations at an exciting time in its history.

Lincoln is a TEF Gold institution, ranked 22nd in the 2019 Guardian University Guide. It is an ambitious and dynamic organisation which prides itself on deep engagement with employers and its local communities, and thought-leadership within the UK HE sector.

The Head of Development and Alumni Relations will lead the University’s alumni and development team. Working closely with the Deputy Vice Chancellor (External Relations), the successful candidate will develop and implement an enhanced alumni relations programme, and will lead fundraising for the University, focussing initially on the new Lincoln Medical School, a transformational project for the University, city and region. You will be a member of the Communications, Development and Marketing (CDM) team and will report to the Director of CDM.

Key to your success in this role will be your proven track-record of fundraising and alumni relations, ideally developed in the HE sector, including direct experience of raising five and six-figure gifts from individuals (lifetime gifts and legacies), corporates, trusts and foundations. You will be comfortable operating at a senior level with University leaders, donors and friends, and will display excellent communication and inter-personal skills, diplomacy, tact and self-awareness. Drive, determination and resilience are essential qualities for success in this role.
