The Wessex Institute is part of the University of Southampton (ranked top 1% in the world). Handling contracts including the NIHR (National Institute for Health Research) Evaluation, Trials and Studies Coordinating Centre (NETSCC) we manage and maximise the impact of ground-breaking medical research programmes, influencing the future of healthcare delivery across the UK and medicine worldwide.

We are currently looking for an administrator to join our Public Involvement and External Engagement (PIEE) team. 

This will be a part-time (0.5FTE or 18 hours) permanent post and will primarily be supporting our activities to involve external stakeholders, including researchers, health and social care professionals, patients and the public in research. The role provides high-level administrative support to the PIEE team and occasionally other teams within NETSCC.

The post would suit someone who is naturally well-organised, enjoys working as part of a busy and varied team, has a flexible approach to work and is able to demonstrate initiative. You will have administrative experience, excellent communication and organisational skills and be computer literate, with the ability to develop positive working relationships with colleagues of all levels across NETSCC and with external stakeholders. The successful candidate will need to work Monday afternoons and Tuesday mornings, but the rest of the unallocated hours are flexible. This can be discussed further at interview stage.
