Based at our busy St. Peters House Library in the heart of the city of Brighton & Hove you will be responsible for the supervision and delivery of our public-facing Help Desk services ensuring the delivery of an exceptional, proactive customer service to our students and visitors.

You should have proven experience of using a library management system and supervising others. You will be expected to take charge of library stacks in a busy environment, prioritising your own workload and finding solutions to obstacles as they arise.

You should be a confident communicator as you will help a diverse group of library users.  You should also be able to undertake all the physical requirements of the job as you would be required to carry and shelve books and other tasks that involved handling heavy books repetitively.

The post holder would be required to work 18.5 hours per week with the following work pattern:  Monday evening, all day Tuesday and Wednesday morning. There will also be the occasional requirement to work on a Saturday.

This is a permanent part-time position which forms part of an existing job-share arrangement.
