You will join us at an exciting time as we invest in five new posts in computer science: 3 Lectureships and 2 Professorial posts.

You will become part of our vibrant and friendly Cyber Security Research Group that collaborates with Southampton Cyber Security Academy (CSA), a newly formed partnership between the University and key industrial partners (http://www.soton.ac.uk/csa). The CSA provides a unique environment that facilitates use-inspired and multi-disciplinary research, education, training and outreach. It draws together expertise from across the University, including Computing, Electronics, Law, Management, Mathematics, Sociology and Psychology. In addition, you will play a leading role in defining and delivering undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in Cyber Security.  

Within Cyber Security specific topics of interest include the security and privacy of emerging applications of the internet-of-things and cloud computing, the protection of cyber-physical systems, system and network security, crypto protocols, application of AI and Machine Learning in cyber security, computer forensics, intrusion detection, authentication systems, cyber risk and economics, usability and human aspects of cyber security.

To be successful, you will have a PhD in Electronics or Computer Science, a strong publication record, and able to demonstrate delivery of teaching in a manner that meaningfully engages students. It is essential you have a track-record of innovative research within Cyber Security including engineering of Cyber Security and information assurance, and have the ambition to build a strong research Team.

The post will be held in the School of Electronics and Computer Science (ECS). Ranked in the top 1% of universities globally and among the UK's top 20 for research, the University of Southampton has an international reputation for its research, teaching and enterprise activities.
