Description :

We are seeking an organised and self-motivated Research Associate to carry out a business development and research project under an exciting, newly awarded Advanced Engineering Business Acceleration Hub, funded under the EU European Regional Development Fund.  The programme can support all types of advanced engineering businesses, in particular automotive and aerospace, in the West of England LEP area through engagement, translation of research, training, and incubation.

The role involves undertaking technical business development and engagement activities and research project development associated with the programme. This will relate to the technology needs of potential entrepreneurs, aligning and developing new technologies, and developing collaborative technology development opportunities with appropriate researchers from across the Faculty of Engineering and Design and the wider project team associated with the University of Bath’s Institute of Advanced Automotive Propulsion Systems (IAAPS).

The successful applicant will ideally have a relevant research background in the area of advanced engineering, in particular automotive, as well as relevant project management skills and experience of working with industrial partners in a research context. The appointed Research Associate, working closely with Professors Gary Hawley and Chris Brace, will also coordinate and support the integration of student design and research projects into the activities of the Hub project.

This represents an exciting opportunity to further develop your research and project management skills as a gateway to an academic career.
