Description :

An exciting opportunity has become available to join our 5G research and development team at the Institute for Communication Systems (ICS) home of the 5G Innovation Centre (5GIC).

ICS has been established for over ten years as one of a number of autonomous research centres at the University of Surrey, housing some 160 researchers, PhD students and academic staff with research focused on future communication systems including mobile and wireless communications, satellite communications, and networking (management, protocols and security).

We are seeking to recruit a Research Fellow in software-defined networking until 30th June 2021 to join our team and provide software research and development to support network “softwarisation” in support of the 5GIC test bed and related projects.

5GIC within ICS brings together leading academics and key industry partners in a shared vision to help define and develop the 5G infrastructure that will underpin the way we communicate, work and live our everyday lives in the future. The 5GIC will drive the delivery of a mobile communications and wireless connectivity capable of meeting the needs of tomorrow’s connected society and digital economy.

5GIC offers an exceptional research and development environment where computer scientists, electrical and electronics engineers, and telecommunication experts collectively build the full stack of the next generation mobile networks. In addition to its campus-wide LTE-Advanced mobile network deployment, 5GIC is now deploying the world-first deployment of its 5G end-to-end test infrastructure.
