The University is looking for an enthusiastic individual to take on a permanent role as Research Integrity and Governance Co-coordinator, and provide administrative support, co-ordination and project work to the Research Integrity and Governance Office (RIGO) in Research and Innovation Services.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the ethics process for research projects, and ensuring the research complies with legislation and good research governance.  The post holder will have the opportunity to participate in a quality assurance programme, to incorporate monitoring and audit programmes for research quality. 

The Assistant Research Integrity and Governance Officer will work closely with colleagues in RIGO as well as the University Legal and Secretariat Team, Surrey Clinical Research Centre, University Clinical Trials Unit, University Ethics Committee and Animal Welfare and Ethics Review Board (AWERB)    

The successful applicant will have strong administrative skills, keen eye for detail and be broadly familiar with research governance including the Concordat to Support Research Integrity. 

Candidates will ideally have experience of working in a regulated, clinical research, policy or HE environment and be familiar with ethics for research projects.  A basic awareness of relevant legislation would be preferable (for example Data Protection Act, UK Policy Framework for Health and Social Care Research, EU Clinical Trials Regulation and Animal Welfare Act).  Candidates will understand the higher education research sector and an awareness of the Concordat for Research Integrity would be desirable. 

Applicants will be educated to HNC, A level, NVQ 3 or HND with some relevant experience, or, significant vocational experience.
