Assistant Professor

As part of its expansion exercise, the School of Pharmacy at the University of Nottingham Malaysia is seeking to recruit two new academic staff at the Assistant Professor level. Successful candidates should have a proven track record of academic excellence in teaching and/or research. They will also ideally have experience of the pharmacy profession in Malaysia and/or the UK and registered with the Pharmacy Board Malaysia and/or the General Pharmaceutical Council, UK.

The School has significant expertise in different areas of research including drug discovery & delivery and social pharmacy in cancer, diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. We currently offer three undergraduate programmes including MPharm (Hons), Pharmaceutical Sciences (Hons) and Biomedical Sciences (Hons). We are looking for individuals who could either complement or add to these portfolios. We have very strong links with the UK Campus and would welcome applicants who would like to exploit the opportunity for international collaborative research and teaching. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues in Malaysia and the School in the UK in a collaborative approach to meet the principles and values set out in the university’s Global Strategy 2020 www.nottingham.ac.uk/about/documents/uon-global-strategy-2020.pdf.

The successful candidate is expected to contribute to normal academic activities through the delivery of high quality teaching and research and will be required to undertake administrative work/management functions as required and to generally assist with the efficient and effective running of the School of Pharmacy and the wider University. Opportunities for regular travel to the UK campus will be provided to facilitate this.
