The University of Nottingham is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic educational professional with substantial experience of teaching A level Mathematics, Further Mathematics and/or Core Maths to take on the role of Advanced Mathematics Support Programme Area Coordinator in the East Midlands region. This post is part of the national Advanced Mathematics Support Programme (AMSP).

You will play a key role in the operation of the AMSP, working as part of a team of Area Coordinators across the East Midlands region. You will be responsible for the effective management of support for schools and colleges in improving the teaching and learning of level 3 mathematics in order to increase student participation in your area.

You will be able to carry out duties to the highest standard and to evidence how, through your experience, you will:

organise activities and events to promote level 3 mathematics to students in Key Stage 4·organise tuition for students of Further Mathematics, when schools and colleges are unable to provide it directly themselvesorganise professional development for teachers of GCSE, A level Maths and Further Maths, and Core Mathsadvise and support schools and colleges with developing their level 3 mathematics provisioncoordinate support for students preparing for university mathematics entrance examinationsliaise with Maths Hubs and other stakeholders to improve level 3 mathematics in your area

We are looking for a proactive, organised candidate who can evidence:     

substantial experience of teaching Core Maths and/or A level Mathematics and Further Mathematicsoutstanding organisational and project coordination skillsexcellent communication skillsexcellent IT skillsthe ability to build and maintain good professional relationships, and will be a confident and enthusiastic teacher with a passion for mathematics. 

The starting date for this post is 1 May 2019 and is offered on a fixed-term contract until 30 April 2020 in the first instance. The hours of work are 21.75 hours per week, with some flexibility regarding which days are worked.
