Permanent role, part time or full time

25 to 35 hours per week or term-time working. 

We have an exciting opportunity to work as an Assistant Finance Officer in our Finance team.  The role is based at the Students’ Union on the Highfield Campus, University of Southampton. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks which will include:

Maintaining and processing the payroll informationProcessing payments and receipts for SUSU Student Clubs and SocietiesProcessing and allocating purchase invoices within the accounting systemInputting journals to the finance system Assisting with the two-weekly BACS payment runsAssisting in the month end process and other routine finance procedures as required

About You

You will be qualified at AAT Level 3/CIPP Level 1 (or have equivalent experience) and have experience of administrating a payroll and of delivering day-to-day financial operations within an organisation. You’ll have excellent interpersonal skills, an analytical approach and meticulous attention to detail. 

The hours for the role are flexible, working 25 – 35 hours.  If you are applying to work 25 hours this must cover a minimum of four days. We are also open to the possibility of term-time working for the right candidate.
