Bring your experience as an asbestos surveyor to make a direct impact on the management of our asbestos portfolio and gain experience across the university's range of estate, facilities and safety management disciplines to progress your career.

Working with our technical team, an integral function of the Estates & Facilities Management Department responsible for minor works and day-to-day maintenance throughout the university, you will be required to assist with managing a large asbestos portfolio, manage surveys, re-inspect and assess the portfolio and oversee remedial works. Working with the Department Safety Advisor & Asbestos Manager and other team members, you will also promote high standards of effective asbestos management and awareness.

A sound understanding and experience of all types asbestos surveying and related management practices is essential, as is the ability to analyse, advise and resolve problems and sound IT skills for developing the Shine Vision asbestos register.  A sensitive communicator, you will also work co-operatively with others whilst positively influencing outcomes and behaviour.

Regular travel to campuses in Eastbourne, Falmer and Brighton is required and although having access to your own form of transport is desirable, the use of public transport is an option.  Business related travel expenses will be reimbursed in line with current university policy.  Occasional short duration work may be required on evenings and weekends and time off in lieu will be granted.

This post is fixed-term for two years, and will be based at Exion 27, Hollingbury, Brighton, BN1 8AF.

Interviews are likely to take place in the week commencing 11 March 2019.
