The unit is a rapidly growing academic unit which designs and conducts high quality national and international multicentre trials across a range of health topics collaborating with clinicians and academics within the University and local NHS trusts.
The unit is seeking to recruit a clinical trial administrator to work within our multidisciplinary team to support the successful delivery of high quality trials. The successful candidate will be expected to work flexibly as part of a team to provide administrative support to the trials, the clinical trial managers and the Unit, as required. He/she will work closely with the trial team, clinical trial managers, the senior trial manager, the Investigators, the site staff and R&D departments to support the successful completion of studies.
Duties will include printing and sending out materials to study sites and pharmacy; maintenance of Trial Master Files and local site files; planning travel arrangements and meetings; data entry and raising data queries. In addition, the post-holder may be responsible for making regular telephone calls to participants and to local investigators at study sites.
Candidates must have a minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and mathematics (Grade A-C); good organisational skills; computer literacy; capable of working without close supervision; the ability to plan and prioritise work activities with good attention to detail; the ability to flexibly work as part of a team as well as individually; and a good telephone manner. Knowledge of databases and experience of working within a busy healthcare or research environment is desirable.
This post will be offered on a fixed term contract for a period of 12 months.
This is a full-time post, preferably; however applications are welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time to a minimum of 0.8 FTE, 29 hours per week. Please indicate on your application the hours you wish to work.
