Job Purpose

As part of this transforming organisation, Information Services (IS) are seeking to enhance the Analysis and Design Team with the appointment of a Systems focused Senior Product Analyst who will drive innovation and new ideas in the design and build of applications based on our Technology Roadmaps to support delivery of the University’s digital strategy.

As an experienced Systems Analyst you will have the opportunity to lead on Change Delivery to help drive forward and deliver new solutions that are fit for purpose and provide innovation and a digitally enhanced service to this global community. As part of the Analysis and Design team, you will help promote design and build best practices and inspire the team to think creatively whilst enabling a delivery based culture.

Job Responsibilities

As a Senior Systems Analyst you will improve the technology landscape and work with maintenance, support and response teams to document, understand and change legacy technology to limit the impact of future change and to reduce the effort needed to support these systems.

As a Senior Systems Analyst you will be responsible for ensuring applications, platforms and solutions are maintained and changed according to industry best practice.

Core Skills

Educated to Degree level or equivalent qualification/experienceProven experience of producing Systems Analysis documentation on legacy systemsProven experience of leading on Systems Analysis for new projects involving integration to 3rd party systemsProven experience of working with other teams and junior team members in knowledge sharing, workload management and critical skills coverageEssential – Experience in analysis work on one or more bespoke solutions based on Microsoft .NET or PHPEssential – Experience in analysis of databases technologies such as Microsoft SQL and OracleEssential – Experience of design Integration between bespoke and off the shelf applicationsDesirable – Experience of Azure integration

Communication

You will be a self-motivated and dynamic individual who is adaptable, flexible and able to adjust to new situations and environmentsStrong inter-personal and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to engage others through complex problem solving
