The Procurement Service plays an important role in supporting colleagues in procuring a diverse range of goods, services and works which are critical to the successful operation of the University.  The procurement officer role brings together the opportunity to support senior category managers in delivering a variety of procurements across a broad range of categories within a university environment.

The Higher Education sector is changing and so is the procurement service, we are looking to expand in order to ensure our procurement arrangements reflect the University strategy by embedding a category managed approach, delivering value for money through high quality arrangements. As a member of the team, you will need a good level of commercial acumen, experience of working in a procurement environment and the ability to build strong, productive relationships with a diverse stakeholder group – including academic and research staff, heads of the University’s professional services functions and key external suppliers and partners.   

You should have previous experience of working in a procurement environment, managing the day to day requirements of a contract, preparing and analysing data, ensuring compliance with internal & external procurement regulations, basic tendering and delivering savings & associated benefits.  Please see the job specification for full role details.
