Secretariat is a specialist department within the University of Lincoln's Student Affairs.  Governance-centric, it is responsible for guiding and managing the University's high-level decision-making processes through the institutional committee structure, for its formal student contention cases (particularly complaints and academic appeals but also discipline and fitness to practise at appeal stage) and its information compliance function in a post-GDPR environment.  The Governance Manager has a critical role in managing the day to day function of Secretariat and its individual team members and will have a proven track record of experience around information compliance (especially freedom of information, data subject access requests and data sharing and processing agreements) and committee servicing as the role-holder will be responsible their own portfolio of high level University committees.  

The Governance Manager has a lead role in developing, managing and implementing the specialist services provided by the Secretariat team, ensuring that best practice is followed and proactively led.  The post-holder provides professional guidance, personal involvement and expert support to the University’s academic and management decision and policy-making structures and will also have a sound understanding of the importance of good governance and why it is central to the University's function and ethos.
