The Institute of Coding (IoC) www.instituteofcoding.org is a government-funded national initiative, started in 2018, which is led by the University of Bath and brings together a Consortium of 25 universities and over 60 companies, training providers, professional bodies and outreach organisations, to address the UK’s digital skills gaps.

In addition to leading the national project, the University of Bath is also a project partner and leads the fifth of five IoC Themes of work. Theme 5 relates to establishing a sustainable future for IoC activities and sharing best practice across the sector, and is an integral part of the Institute’s future plans

This  role has a dual purpose:

1) To drive the delivery of Theme 5 of the IoC 

2) To co-ordinate, support and deliver project-related activities for Bath across all areas of the project (Themes 1-4). 

The appointee will provide Project Management and administrative support to both Theme 5 leadership and the Bath project team, and will develop strong working relationships with academic and professional staff from across the University and beyond, including engaging with staff at senior levels and external stakeholders. You will work closely with IoC Project Managers across the consortium to ensure that the project is delivered effectively and efficiently.

Proven ability to operate with initiative and successfully deliver complex projects is essential to the role. An excellent communicator and presenter, the post-holder will represent the University of Bath and Theme 5 across the project.

The post will require close liaison and collaboration with other members of the IoC staff and a collegiate approach is fundamental to the role. 

This post is part time (21.9 hours per week/0.8FTE) and is being offered on a fixed term contract basis with an anticipated expiry date of 31 March 2019.
