Senior Research Associate in AMR Modelling (A2559)

We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher with experience in agent-based modelling (ABM) to join the DRUM: Drivers of antimicrobial Resistance in Uganda and Malawi Consortium, a £3M programme funded by the MRC. This exciting multidisciplinary collaboration involves clinicians, social scientists, microbiologists, and data scientists and has the aim of understanding social, behavioural, and environmental determinants contributing to transmission of antimicrobial resistant genes within communities in low- and middle-income countries.

You will demonstrate a breadth of knowledge across a range of ABM methodologies, and should be competent in programming in a common high-performance language (C, C++, or Python with suitable machine learning modules).  Knowledge of statistical model fitting procedures for ABMs is desirable. You should show a commitment towards global health, have experience of low- and middle-income country (LMIC) environments, and be willing to travel to our study sites in Uganda and Malawi (and elsewhere as required) to participate in project meetings and lead on the design of a model to represent our study communities.

This post is based within CHICAS, the Centre for Health Informatics, Computing and Statistics at Lancaster University, a research group of 10 staff members actively engaged in many aspects of quantitative health research particularly focused towards LMICs.  Opportunity will be provided to engage in career development in research, leadership, and teaching skills.
