The Job

As Knowledge Transfer Partnership Associate you will be employed by Lancaster University and based in Xyone Ltd’s offices on-site at InfoLab21. You will lead this exciting project which will support Xyone in designing and implementing a novel threat intelligence analytical software as a service platform to provide consumers real time risk management support.

You will work closely with and be supported by the senior management and the software development team at Xyone and academics from the School of Computing and Communications, principally Dr. Daniel Prince

This position is based at Xyone Ltd’s offices, InfoLab21 at Lancaster University.

This two-year post has been created as a result of a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) between Lancaster University’s School of Computing and Communications and Xyone Ltd. This position, with a successful company and a leading university, is a great opportunity for you to participate in an exciting major project and to accelerate your career with potential of a permanent job within Xyone Ltd.

The Candidate

You will have a Postgraduate degree in computer science/computer engineering/cyber security with good programming skills and a strong understanding of software architecture and design, in order to contribute immediately to the ambitious work plan. Additional attributes will include good project management and team working skills. 

In addition to a competitive salary, the reward package also includes an additional personal training and development budget of £4,000, offering excellent opportunities to further your professional development and support your career progression. You will be encouraged to present papers at national and international conferences.  Depending on previous experience, the successful completion of this project will set the basis for the potentially on-going employment within the company partner.

The School of Computing and Communications (SCC) at Lancaster University is a research-intensive school employing 50 academic staff, over 40 research staff, and over 100 PhD students. SCC is ranked 7th in the UK by 4* and 3* research and 12th by GPA. SCC is based at InfoLab21, a £15m centre of excellence in ICT. InfoLab21 also houses the Knowledge Business Centre (KBC) which fosters local and regional business development, start-up project incubation, and ICT training. Working with KBC will provide an ideal path to commercial exploitation of the project's research outcomes.
