Description :

The University of Lincoln is a vibrant and innovative institution, which is situated in the heart of a beautiful and historic city. The University of Lincoln has established an international reputation for the quality of its teaching and research, and is ranked 5th in the UK in The Guardian University Guide 2019 in the ‘Design & Crafts’ subject table. We strive to create a friendly environment, which has students’ wellbeing at its heart. This is reflected in the National Student Survey 2018 where students rated Lincoln 7th in the UK for overall student satisfaction. Lincoln was also awarded Gold – the highest standard possible - in the national Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) award (an independent assessment of teaching quality in UK higher education). These accolades reflect our exciting teaching, great support for students and excellent employment outcomes in the Lincoln School of Design.

The University of Lincoln seeks a Senior Lecturer to take forward its BA (Hons) Design for Exhibitions and Museums (DEM) programme, which will predominantly involve being the Link Tutor for the Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI). Since September 2014 the final year of the BA(Hons) DEM course has been delivered at both Lincoln and the HKDI. A key part of the role advertised will involve leading the delivery of this programme in Hong Kong. A willingness to travel and spend approximately 6 weeks per annum in Hong Kong is therefore essential.

The ideal candidate will possess a postgraduate qualification in a discipline relevant to exhibition design (for example: spatial design; interior design; theatre design; graphic design or architecture); have experience of working in a Higher Education environment at undergraduate level; and be a good team player. We are particularly keen to find an individual who can work closely with the BA(Hons) Interior Architecture and Design team.
