Description :

The School of Management at the University of Bath is seeking to appoint an administrator to support the management and operations of a newly established EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Trust, Identity, Privacy and Security, hosted by the Universities of Bath and Bristol. The role is to support Bath-based students and activities, including summer schools, innovation challenges, and placements for Bath-based students.

The EPSRC CDT  (Trust, Identity, Privacy and Security in Large-Scale Infrastructures or 'TIPS-at-scale') was established in 2019 and is an eight year investment by EPSRC and our partners to train the next generation of leaders in cybersecurity. The focus of the CDT is on inter-disciplinary, collaborative approaches to address the security, trust and privacy challenges faced by large-scale infrastructures. Uniquely, the CDT will recruit students from both technical specialisms and from the social, behavioural and management sciences.

The post holder will be expected to work with CDT staff based at both Bristol and Bath Universities, and across the wider partnership, to deliver exceptional support and guidance to postgraduate award-holders. Working closely with senior staff and administrative colleagues, they will assist in processing applications, organising and running  events and research activities, maintaining student records, and co-ordinating with industrial and government partners. The role will also provide opportunities for the post holder to contribute to the development of promotional materials and communication tools, including the CDT website and social media content.

The administrator will act as the first point of contact at Bath for enquiries and managing a wide range of internal and external enquiries from students, staff, partnerships and the consortia via email, telephone and face-to-face contact, taking an active decision-making role and using judgement on a day-to-day basis, providing advice, support and information. They will work in close conjunction with a full time CDT manager at Bristol, and the centre director (Bristol) and deputy-director (Bath).

This is a part-time position with guaranteed existing funding until late 2027

Closing Date: 24 Mar 2019
Type: Management, Specialist and Administration
