We are seeking to appoint a Library Space and Services Officer to join our Library Operations and Services team at Lancaster University. Lancaster enjoys a top-ten ranking in the UK University league tables, was awarded Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework exercise and is currently University of the Year in the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide. 

You will be responsible for co-managing the Library Information Support team and ensuring the efficient operation of Library spaces and frontline services. You will work under the guidance of the Library Space and Services Manager, maintaining high quality customer service during all Library opening hours, and delivering projects to facilitate continuous improvement to Library services and the user experience.

We are looking to recruit an individual with a passion for exceptional customer service, who has excellent interpersonal, communication, organisational and IT skills.  You will have experience of working in a customer-focused environment and be able to demonstrate evidence of working in a collegiate and supportive way with colleagues and customers from a diverse range of educational and cultural backgrounds, sharing good practice and encouraging knowledge exchange.  

You will co-manage the workload of the team, arrange staff rotas to ensure service coverage, organise and deliver staff training, and provide assistance and support to colleagues in day to day activities. You will be able to work with minimal supervision, take the initiative in problem-solving, determine priorities and meet deadlines.
