Description :

The Department operates a highly successful DClinPsy programme with Level 2 accreditation from the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies and Foundation and Intermediate Level Accreditation in Systemic Theory and Practice. We are seeking applicants who have the capacity to function in the role of Research Director in particular, and/or other aspects of programme leadership. Research excellence and experience in support of clinical training will be a more important consideration than area of research focus or level of experience in clinical practice. Applicants must have the capacity to provide leadership in clinical psychological research and related teaching.

With particular expertise in cognitive behavioural, systemic, and mindfulness approaches, Bath’s DClinPsy staff demonstrate excellence in the application of psychological theory to complex clinical problems, including interests that blend with research strength in cognitive, developmental, forensic, neurological, and social psychology across the Department of Psychology.

The Department is completing a significant expansion. The Department occupies a new purpose-built five storey building, containing two floors of laboratories, including state-of-the-art EEG/ERP, virtual reality, observation, psychobiology, eye-tracking, pain, cross-modal and computerised testing labs. In the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF) exercise, staff were returned in different units of assessment, the largest of which (Allied Health Professions) obtained the highest REF2014 rating across the whole University. The University was ranked 12th overall in the UK in REF2014 and received TEF Gold. The Department was recently second in the country in The Complete University Guide, The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide.  More information about the Department can be found at http://www.bath.ac.uk/psychology/.

The University of Bath is situated in the beautiful World Heritage City of Bath and is part of the GW4 group of leading Universities (with Bristol, Cardiff and Exeter).
