Student Support Officer (ESLFO1070)

As one of the main contacts for students and staff in the School of Education, you will provide general student support for all taught postgraduate students.

Using your excellent knowledge and expertise of Student Education practices and processes, you will have the responsibility for co-ordinating student support, identifying, developing, and delivering support that enables a diverse cohort of students to succeed. You will be at the heart of the School’s student support provision, acting as administrative lead and champion for the personal tutor system, peer mentoring, induction, disability support, the student/staff forum, and absence monitoring. In addition you will be a key source of information for students, advising on and administering extensions and mitigation, and providing signposting to the wide range of professional support services available within the University. You will work as part of a team of Student Support Officers across the faculty and the wider University to reflect on and improve the service we provide. 

You will be well organised, with excellent attention to detail and a flexible approach to work. You will be able to multi-task and move between tasks within the Schools at short notice to meet deadlines.

With experience of working in an administrative role you will have excellent communication skills and the enthusiasm to deliver an exceptional student experience. You will work collaboratively with team members within your School, with other Schools and Central Services to share good practice and encourage knowledge exchange between colleagues to facilitate continuous improvement.
