An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Research Assistant with relevant research skills and experience to work under the supervision of Dr Murray Smith, Senior Research Fellow in Econometrics and Health Economics on various econometric and health economics projects. 

Based at the University of Lincoln, Brayford Campus, the Research Assistant will primarily work on various studies in our portfolio of prehospital, primary and acute care studies. If you are the successful candidate, you will report directly to Dr Smith and will also work closely with the CaHRU director, team members and other academic collaborators on research studies linked to the aims of the research centre.

You will be involved in all aspects of the research, including: obtaining necessary ethics permission, undertaking econometric, health economic and other data collection and analyses under supervision of Dr Smith, and working with the project lead(s). You will also be responsible for supporting preparation of reports, conference abstracts, presentations, and journal papers.

You will have experience in health services research together with econometric or health economic methods. You should be knowledgeable and proficient in the use of data analysis packages such as Stata and SPSS. Good written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work well with members of the wider project teams and CaHRU staff.

You will be qualified to at least Honours degree level in a relevant subject (1st, 2.1 or equivalent). Previous appropriate methods training and experience in health research, particularly in the fields of econometrics or health economics or both together with good written and verbal communication is essential. Proven knowledge of writing for publication would be an advantage.

This position does not fulfil the UK Visas & Immigration sponsorship criteria for Tier 2.
